Our overall objective in sounding board assignments is to effect lasting and beneficial change. Our offering works on a one-to-one, bespoke basis. We support clients through role changes or increased capability/performance within organisation, accelerating their integration into new roles and organisations, reorientation of their career to gain re-engagement and momentum or helping them transition out of an organisation (e.g. in the latter stages of their career or supporting entrepreneurs with their exit strategy on sale of their business). Typically, these arrangements last for at least a year. During this time, we meet regularly to sharpen the individual’s effectiveness and competitive edge. Critical to the success of our work is managing the stakeholder dimension. This can relate to:
- relationships with the board
- managing the flow of communication within the leader’s team
- handling peer relations
- interacting effectively with analysts and institutional shareholders, strategic suppliers and business partners
The length of engagement enables our clients' strategies and learnings to become embedded and sustainable. We use a combination of:
active listening and coaching
cross-cultural and strategy skills; and
hard commercial advice gained from senior global experience.
Outputs and metrics for measuring success are agreed upfront with the individual (and the organisation where applicable). We operate to clear guidelines covering confidentiality and communication. The work that we do with each client is unique to them and evolves over time in line with changing needs, ambitions and opportunities. We deliver our sounding board either in person or through Skype, to help individuals maximise their experience.
