Corporate Clients

  • Two of our clients, having had successful careers in banking, determined that they wanted major changes in their working lives. During the periods of reflection one was keen to investigate a completely different sector where his skills could be applied. He secured a position as FD in a media company, which reflected his interest in the Arts. AGM was also engaged in assisting the transition with particular reference to cultural aspects of a more arts based environment. The other wanted to maintain active business interests but to become part time, leaving himself increased personal time with his wife. With our guidance, he embarked on a search for a number of Non Executive Directorships. Over a few years he built up a portfolio of three traditional NED positions plus one with a local charity.

  • A major multinational company was restructuring and seeking to make redundant a senior and long-serving executive. Initial conversations led to a highly charged and potentially litigious situation. AGM worked to find a solution acceptable to both employer and employee while avoiding a legal action that risked being seriously damaging to both sides. After in depth consultation, the executive and the organisation began to engage in positive discussions. As a result, the executive was asked to stay on for 6 months in a consultancy capacity to assist the company with a difficult issue related to EU regulation. He was able to position himself in his market as someone whose expertise was still in demand by his employer and he used this as a platform to establish himself in the interim market where his technical skills and know-how are at a premium. The organisation benefited from the executive’s experience during the transitional phase and avoided recourse to law - and the fallout from what would inevitably have been a high profile and expensive tribunal case.

  • Having assisted one client with his exit strategy, he engaged us to assist his transition into the new company. AGM provided assistance with creation and communication of his personal agenda, as well as political and network support within a 100 day time frame. We also agreed to extend the consultancy period and to meet on a regular basis, for a period of 12 months, to review developments and to check that his responses and positioning were optimal. As a result he has successfully embedded himself in the new organisation and is operating effectively.

  • A 49 year old Investment Banker who had been working as a consultant for 6 years engaged with us to help him redirect. Through our connections to Private Equity companies he was appointed the CEO of a specialised professional services organisation in 2007.

  • A young Deputy CEO of a multinational travel and financial services company was recommended to AGM as a corporate candidate when he decided to leave the company as his career was not being developed sufficiently enough for him to reach his desired goals. He held a number of non executive appointments and had a background in financial services. He was also a Chartered Accountant. After engaging with us, we connected him to Head-hunters specialising in his areas of expertise and we are pleased to announce that through our introductions, he was appointed a Chief Operating Officer of a global leisure company in April 2007. AGM has worked with many major companies including GSK, DHL, Unilever, Thyssen Krupp, Lloyds Register, iSoft, EDF, Moeller, Citigroup, News International, Fortis, Schroeder’s and PwC
